At Lovelady Shield, my recent visit revealed the enchanting charm of a Georgian country house enveloped in beautifully landscaped gardens. Embracing the tranquillity of Alston, I found this location ideal for recharging while visiting family, and the picturesque views added a delightful touch to the experience. Each morning, I indulged in the free cooked-to-order breakfast, which showcased the culinary talent of the kitchen. While I reminisced over the delightful yoghurts, which were a welcome morning treat, the eggs perfectly cooked to order stood out as a highlight. I noticed the variance in quality during my stay, but when the skilled cook was on duty, the offerings were notably refined, using locally sourced ingredients. My room was equipped with tea and coffee facilities, embodying the spirit of comfort. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, providing the perfect sanctuary after a day of exploration. The staff, particularly Niaomie and Dan, enhanced the experience with their attentive service.
